Philosophy
My personal philosophy of medical practice centers around the precept of
First Do No Harm.
To this end:
First Do No Harm.
To this end:
- methods and medicinal substances that minimize the risk of harmful “side effects” are used
- harmful consequences caused by suppression of symptoms are avoided
- respect, acknowledgment and working with the individuals' self healing process is promoted
- our work together is a partnership; I encourage questions and suggestions
Sefira Fialkoff, CHom
Sefira is a graduate of the Homeopathy School International. She practices classical homeopathy, treating people (and pets) of all ages. Her practice is based in the Greater New Orleans area, though she is available nation-wide through virtual consultations.
I grew up with homeopathy as the primary healing modality in our family, raised by two naturopathic doctors who specialized in it. One of my earliest experiences with its effectiveness came when I was an infant: a bee flew into the car and stung me, and I started screaming in pain. My panicked parents, unaccustomed to an upset baby, reached for the emergency kit to give me the remedy Apis, swerving slightly on the highway in the process. Moments later, a police officer pulled us over for erratic driving. My parents explained they'd been trying to help their screaming baby, "it was so distressing... please understand..." The officer took one look into the backseat and saw me smiling peacefully. The remedy had worked so quickly and completely that the officer didn’t believe the story - and dad got the ticket.
